- UNLV has +250 odds to win the Mountain West.
- There are +150 odds for Boise State to win the PAC-12.

LAS VEGAS – Ahead of the 2026-27 college football season, there are new rules as far as how Group of 6 teams reach the College Football Playoff. Put in simplest terms, the highest-ranked G6 team, regardless of whether they are a conference champion or not, gets the automatic bid.
That said, there is little to no margin for error at the G6 level. Use college football prop betting sites conference championship odds to help gauge which teams could make the CFP this season. We’re looking at UNLV, Boise State, and James Madison as potential G6 teams to grab the auto-bid.
UNLV Rebels
Do not count out Dan Mullen’s UNLV squad. They are one of the favorites to win the Mountain West with the amount of experience on this roster, including Jackson Arnold, Amorion Walker, and several other P4 transfers that flocked to Vegas.
This was the number one offense in the conference last season and could make a strong run in the Top-25 rankings throughout the season.
Boise State Broncos
Experience and consistency can very well carry Boise State through the first season of the new PAC-12 and into the playoffs. They are the odds on favorite to win the PAC-12 this year and have playoff experience already after being the G6 team in 2024.
Most of its starters from that 2024 roster remain on the squad, including QB Maddux Madsen, RB Dylan Riley, and kicker Colton Boomer, to name a few.
James Madison Dukes
Can they make it two in a row? Tentatively, yes. Billy Napier is favored to win the Sun Belt in his first season back in the conference. With JMU making it last year and showing the committee that this is a tier-1 G6 conference, if the Dukes can transition smoothly from Bob Chesney to Napier, it’s hard to see them not in the playoff conversation come the first postseason rankings.
