- Odds have set Sam Leavitt’s rushing yard total at 45.5 yards.
- Davon Booth’s rushing yard total is set at 56.6.
STARKVILLE, Miss. – An SEC vs. Big 12 matchups is set between the Mississippi State Bulldogs and the #12 Arizona State Sun Devils. Oddsmakers are leaning on Arizona State here with a 6.5-point spread. However, we’re looking at the value in player props for this one.
The two players that we’re circling on college football prop betting sites are Arizona State QB Sam Leavitt and Mississippi State RB, Davon Booth. We’ll take a look at each of their rushing yard totals for this Week 2 matchup.
Sam Leavitt Continues Working The Run
Sam Leavitt Total Rushing Yards
- Over 45.5 -114
- Under 45.5 -114
After his Week 1 performance, how could we fade Leavitt on the ground? Last week, he totaled 73 rushing yards on seven rushing attempts, torching his rushing yard total. Now going into week 2, he should have the game script with the odds leaning their way by nearly a touchdown margin. That said, we should see Leavitt tuck and run similar to how he did last week for big chunks of yards, forcing his over once in rushing once again.
Bulldogs Forced To Throw, Hurts Booth’s Rushing Yards
Davon Booth Total Rushing Yards
- Over 56.5 -114
- Under 56.5 -114
As for Davon Booth, we’re fading his over in total rushing yards on college football betting sites as the Bulldogs are sure to have a negative game script. However, that is not the only factor coming into play here, though. His backup, sophomore RB Fluff Bothwell, had a productive outing last week with 10 carries for 43 yards and two touchdowns and is sure to get a bigger chunk of the action in Week 2.
Going back to the game script, Arizona State could very well run away with this one early, which would force Mississippi State to throw and play catchup rather than run and risk the clock running out on them.
