BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Will there be a third repeat champion since 2011? Odds are bullish on Indiana doing just that as they sit towards the top of the National Championship board.
Currently on college football prop betting sites, Indiana is listed at +900 and one of just six teams with odds under +1000 to win the National Championship in the upcoming season. This also marks an all-time low across the board for all of Indiana’s preseason odds.

It’s safe to say that the Indiana Hoosiers are beginning to look like the next great dynasty in college football behind Curt Cignetti as coach. After capturing the program's first National Championship last season and sending 14 players to the NFL, Cignetti and his staff reloaded with the number one-ranked transfer portal class in the country.
Highlighting the portal class is former TCU QB Josh Hoover, who is coming off a 3,472-yard, 29 TD, and 13 INT season to replace Fernando Mendoza.
Around him, former Boston College RB Turbo Richard will step in and fill the holes that Roman Hemby and Kaelon Black left. Richard ran for 749 yards and nine touchdowns last season.
At receiver, they landed Nick Marsh (Michigan State) and Shazz Preston (Tulane). Both led their respective teams in receiving yards last season. Also at receiver, Indiana retained Charlie Becker, who is coming off a 679/4 TD season as the third option. Becker has major breakout potential this season.
Indiana’s Schedule
On paper, based on who they brought in through the portal and their schedule, they should have enough to make another strong run and back their odds on college football sportsbooks. They start the season against three straight G6/FCS opponents before getting to the Big Ten schedule, where they face Northwestern, Rutgers, and Nebraska.
They have a tough finish to the season with arguably the biggest home game in Indiana football history against Ohio State, on the road against Michigan, then finish the season with Minnesota, USC, on the road against Washington, and a rivalry game against Purdue.
If they can get through the second half of the season dropping just two games and likely to Ohio State and Michigan, they should have enough to remain in the playoff conversation by winning out.
