STANFORD, Calif. – The second of the home-and-home series between Hawaii and Stanford is scheduled for Week 0, and Stanford has the edge on online sportsbooks.

This is a great Hawaii team, and they should not be slept on. Especially under center with Micah Alejado, who broke out last season with 3,106 yards and 24 touchdowns en route to a 9-4 season, including a bowl win against Cal. This is also a very experienced defense full of upperclassmen that ranked in the top half of the Mountain West last season.
For Stanford, they’re rolling with former Michigan QB Davis Warren who threw for 1,199 yards, seven touchdowns, and nine interceptions in his only season starting in 2024. Stanford was already a mess last year, finishing 4-8 with just 22 offensive touchdowns for the season. They now lose all four of the top receivers and a clear downgrade at QB.
Stanford finished last season as a bottom-15 offense in the country, averaging just 19 points on 306.5 total yards. Defensively, they allowed 29.2 points and 408.2 yards per game. Hawaii outplayed them on both sides with nearly 400 offensive yards per game on 29 points and allowed 361 yards and 24.1 points per game to opponents.
