ATLANTA – All eyes will be on the Week 1 Thursday night game between Colorado and Georgia Tech. There are several storylines to consider on both sides, however, it’s the Yellow Jackets who come into this one with a touchdown advantage on the spread.
College football prop betting sites are leaning on Georgia Tech in this one at a 7-point spread and have the over/under listed at 51 points. In last year’s season opener, Georgia Tech came away with a 27-20 win.

Mendoza Era Starts Strong
On paper, Georgia Tech has the more experienced roster, and that will certainly play a factor in this one. There is plenty to like about this receiving room led by former Elon transfer Isaiah Fuhrmann, who totaled 907 yards and nine touchdowns last season. Jordan Allen is also expected to take a stride after going for 304 yards in 2025.
The backfield also got a major upgrade in Justice Haynes who comes over from Michigan after totaling 857 rush yards and 10 touchdowns last season. Where things get interesting is under center as Alberto Mendoza makes his debut as QB1.
As far as Colorado goes, it’s Julian Lewis’ time to shine as the former four-star QB gears up as QB1 with former Texas wide receiver DeAndre Moore and former San Jose State star receiver Danny Scudero lining up beside him.
The tricky part about backing Colorado is its defense, where all 11 starters are out of the transfer portal. This unit has zero game action playing together and could struggle against an experienced offense in Georgia Tech.
That said, Georgia Tech could run away with this one in a big way, covering the -7 on the spread on Georgia sportsbooks.
