- Haynes King’s passing yard total is set at 238.5 yards.
- Odds have Kaidon Salter’s rushing attempt total set at 11.5.
BOULDER, Colo. – In what is expected to be the game of the night, the Georgia Tech Yellowjackets are on the road in Boulder to take on Coach Prime and the Colorado Buffaloes.
College football prop betting sites were quick to offer player prop odds for this one, given the QB battle between Haynes King and Colorado’s newest transfer QB, Kaidon Salter. There are props up and down the board for the two, and we’re looking at King’s passing yard total and Salters' rushing attempt total.
Haynes King Gets Comfortable With New Receivers
Haynes King Total Passing Yards
- Over 238.5 -115
- Under 238.5 -115
Although Haynes King is considered more of a dual threat and great running QB, we can fully expect him to get his receivers involved here against Colorado. With just a 4-point spread set in favor of Georgia Tech on college football sportsbooks, the game is expected to be close enough where the Yellowjackets will be forced to throw.
Also, Tech just brought in receivers Eric Rivers and Dean Patterson who both played together at FIU and are expected to make immediate impacts. Rivers finished last season with 1,172 yards and 12 TDs, while Patterson finished at 685 yards and seven TDs. The team would not have gone out and gotten two impact receivers if they didn’t plan on using them right away.
With that, we’re leaning over on King to surpass 238.5 passing yards.
New O-Line Keeps Salter Running
Kaidon Salter Total Rushing Attempts
- Over 11.5 -125
- Under 11.5 -105
Running is already a part of Salters' repertoire, so this is a low number for him as it is on CFB sportsbooks. However, with Colorado starting four brand new offensive linemen from the transfer portal to address their protection last season, it still comes with questions, meaning more QB pressures and more escaping the pocket. Last season, Shedeur Sanders was sacked 42 times.
Salter is a much better runner than Sanders, meaning he’ll be able to escape pressure easier when it comes. Looking back to last season, Salter rushed for 11+ attempts in five of his 12 starts.
With four new starters on the offensive line that have no chemistry playing with each other and Salters’ “escapability,” we could see him hit the over sooner rather than later in the game.
