- Dante Moore’s passing yard total is set at 224.5.
- Odds have a 229.5 passing yard total set for Drew Allar.
STATE COLLEGE, Pa. – Arguably the biggest game of the week and season is set for primetime in Week 5 between the #6 Oregon Ducks and #3 Penn State Nittany Lions from Happy Valley.
This is expected to be one of the closest games to call on college football prop betting sites with just a 3.5-point spread set in favor of Penn State at home in this one. That said, we’re eyeing the major QB battle here between Oregon’s Dante Moore and Penn State’s Drew Allar.
Oregon Continues Pass First Approach Vs. Penn State
Dante Moore Total Passing Yards
- Over 224.5 -110
- Under 224.5 -118
The Oregon offense could be argued as one of, if not the best, in the country, and leading the way is Dante Moore, who is the top-40 most passing yards this season with 962 yards, putting him at a 240.5 yards per game average.
Oregon’s pass first offense is not expected to slow down against Penn State at all. Moore has been extremely efficient with a 74.7 completion rate and 83.7 QBR. He’s surpassed 224.5 passing yards in two of three games against P4 opponents.
As for the Penn State defense, yes, they are allowing just 123.3 pass yards per game, but they have yet to play a P4 opponent.
Nittany Lions Lean Run Forcing Allar Under Across The Board
Drew Allar Total Passing Yards
- Over 229.5 -114
- Under 229.5 -114
Drew Allar Total Passing TDs
- Over 1.5 -105
- Under 1.5 -122
We’re fading the over on both of Drew Allar’s odds on college football sportsbooks for his passing yard and touchdown totals. He’s stayed under 229.5 passing yards in all three games and has stayed under 1.5 passing TDs in two of the three games.
Penn State is an extremely run heavy team, and it shows with both Kaytron Allen and Nick Singleton both hovering around 200 rush yards for the season. As far as this game goes, they have a combined rushing yard total of around 130, with Allen at 70 and Singleton at a 60 yard total.
With 75 combined rush attempts and eight total touchdowns between Allen and Singleton compared to Allar’s 88 pass attempts, it’s hard to trust Allar to go over here. Oregon is also allowing just 120 pass yards per game and has held both P4 opposing QBs that they’ve faced to under 140 pass yards.
