NORMAN, Okla. – College Gameday in Week 2 is headed to Norman for the primetime matchup between the Michigan Wolverines and Oklahoma Sooners in what is a monster SEC vs. Big Ten clash to start the college football season.
Going into the game, there are two major names on college football prop betting sites that we’re eying for player props, and it comes in the QB battle between John Mateer and Bryce Underwood. We’ll take a look at Mateer’s work on the ground and Underwood through the air.
John Mateer Gets It Going On The Ground
John Mateer Total Rushing Yards
- Over 35.5 -114
- Under 35.5 -114
This is a great spot to take Mateer to go over his rushing yard total. Although he failed to cross 35.5 yards last week, he saw a fair amount of usage on the ground with seven rushing attempts, which were tied for the second most on the team.
Taking a look back to last season, while Mateer was at Washington State, he flew over 35.5 yards on college football betting sites in 10 of 12 games played. Last season as a whole, he averaged 68.8 rushing yards per game. That said, he should get back to his ways on the ground here in Week 2.
Underwood Still Experiences Growing Pains In Week 2
Bryce Underwood Total Passing Yards
- Over 183.5 -114
- Under 183.5 -114
Moving over to Underwood, yes, he put on a show in Week 1 against the New Mexico Lobos, however, this is a Lobos team that allowed the sixth most passing yards in the country last season.
He now gets his first real test against another P4 opponent in Oklahoma, who, despite finished 6-6 on the year last season, finished in the top half of the SEC in passing yards allowed at 203.2.
Last week, while it’s a very small sample size against an FCS opponent in Illinois State, the Sooners allowed just 34 passing yards on 10/20 passing.
