Late Night Analysis
Starting with Louisiana Tech vs. Washington State, this is just too many points to lay on Washington State to cover, especially against a defense like Louisiana Tech and the lack of offense from the Cougars. Louisiana Tech has the number one ranked defense in Conference USA, allowing just 18.9 ppg while scoring 28.1 ppg. Washington State is outmatched in both categories as they allow 23 ppg while only scoring 19.9 ppg.
Do not overthink the line between BYU and TCU. BYU is one of the top teams in the country despite their blowout loss in Week 11 to Texas Tech. Their defense is what separates them from TCU in this one, as they’re only allowing 18.3 ppg to opponents this season, while TCU allows 24.6 ppg. BYU has also proven themselves against the spread this season with a 6-3 record and an average cover margin of +5.9 points. TCU, on the other hand, is 4-4-1 ATS on college football sportsbooks with a -2.3 cover margin.
Moving on to San Diego State vs. Boise State, we like the Aztecs’ RB1, Lucky Sutton, to score a touchdown. He’s done so eight times this season, including in four of his last five games. He gets a nice matchup against a Boise State defense allowing 3.8 red zone scoring attempts and 3.4 red zone scores per game for a 90% success rate. Boise State has allowed 16 rushing touchdowns this season.
In the final game on the late slate, Wyoming RB, Samuel Harris will have a tough go around against Fresno State. Harris is only averaging 50 rush yards per game this season and has even stayed under 45.5 rush yards in his last two games. Fresno State also allows the third least amount of rush yards in the Mountain West this year at 127.7 per game.
