College Football Playoff Betting: Odds To Miss/Make It

  • Alabama and Notre Dame are both favored to make the playoffs.
  • Miami and BYU have plus money odds to make the college football playoffs.

MIAMI – Ahead of all college football conference championships, the updated college football playoff rankings have been released, forcing a major shift in the odds to make the College Football Playoff.

There are six teams that are being hyper-focused right now on college football prop betting sites to make or miss the playoffs. Those teams are Notre Dame, Alabama, Miami, BYU, JMU, and Duke.

Odds To Make 2025-25 College Football Playoff

  • Alabama -1500
  • Notre Dame -520
  • JMU +150
  • BYU +390
  • Miami +570
  • Duke +1800

Can The Tide Keep Rolling?

Alabama Make/Miss Playoff Odds

  • Yes -1500
  • No +790

Alabama controls their own destiny from here on out with a “Win & In” SEC championship scenario against Georgia. As the #9 team in the rankings, there isn’t much room for error.

However, their saving grace is their extremely strong resume against top-25 opponents, including #5 Georgia, along with #16 Vanderbilt, #14 Mizzou, and #11 Tennessee, and all in consecutive weeks.

That said, this is a true 50/50 gamble for the Tide, and there could be some serious value on their +790 CFP odds to miss the playoffs. Especially as a +2.5-point underdog against the Dawgs in the SEC title game.

Notre Dame Vs. Miami Continues

Notre Dame Make/Miss Playoff Odds

  • Yes -520
  • No +370

Miami Make/Miss Playoff Odds

  • Yes +570
  • No-900

Despite owning the head to head matchup, the committee is in love with Notre Dame despite the Canes going 4-0 against top-25 opponents and beating the Irish in their first game of the season.

The committee could have a last minute change of heart, as we’ve seen before, and give Miami the favorable shift.

There is also a world that both Miami and Notre Dame find themselves on the outside looking in if BYU were to win the Big 12 championship.

BYU Could Make a Case

BYU Make/Miss Playoff Odds

  • Yes +390
  • No -550

Despite their 11-1 outright record this season, BYU is also in a “Win & In” situation, being that if they lose in the Big 12 Championship, as the current #11 seed, they’d likely fall out.

Given their 29-7 loss to Texas Tech, their +390 odds and disbelief from the committee are not worth the risk.

JMU Find Themselves In CFP Rankings

JMU Make/Miss Playoff Odds

  • Yes +150
  • No -190

This is a great spot for some plus money on the Dukes to get in. There only other competition at the Group of 5 level are #20 Tulane and #24 North Texas, who will face off in the AAC Championship game.

Fade Duke’s CFP Odds

Duke Make/Miss Playoff Odds

  • Yes +1800
  • No -8000

This is not the time to take the risk on Duke to make it in. While they can hold their own on offense, it’s their defense that won't hold up in the ACC Championship game against Virginia. The Cavaliers are the second-ranked defense in the conference, while Duke is a bottom-5 defense. Duke has already lost to Virginia once this season, and their five losses on the season certainly will not help them.
