Oregon vs USC Best Bets: Moore TDs, Miller Rushing Yards

  • Oregon is a 10-point favorite over USC on Saturday despite both teams being ranked in the top 15.
  • USC has yet to lose a game by more than 10 points this season, while Oregon has yet to beat a ranked opponent by more than six.

EUGENE, Ore. – A massive game for the Big Ten is set for this Saturday, as the Oregon Ducks host the USC Trojans with both Big Ten Championship and College Football Playoff aspirations on the line.

#15 USC vs #7 Oregon Game Odds

Team Spread Moneyline Total
USC +10.0 (-110) +305 O 59.5 (-110)
Oregon -10.0 (-110) -410 U 59.5 (-110)

College football prop betting sites list the Ducks as 10 point favorites entering Saturday’s game, a hefty line for a matchup between two ranked opponents.

Both teams sit at 6-1 in conference play, needing either Ohio State or Indiana to lose at least one game for either team to have a shot at the Big Ten Conference Championship.

Bettors should lean towards USC to cover the spread in this one for a few reasons.

Firstly, both the Trojans’ losses on the season have come on the road against ranked opponents. However, both losses were by 10 points or less.

They’ve also won two games against ranked opponents, Michigan and Iowa.

Second, in three games against ranked opponents this season, Oregon has gone 2-1 and both wins were one possession games.

Their only home game against a ranked opponent was against Indiana, which they lost by a final score of 30-20.

King Miller Over 72.5 Rushing Yards (-115)

Redshirt freshman running back King Miller has been a revelation for the Trojans, leading the team in rushing with 719 yards, 5 touchdowns, and 7.3 yards per carry.

Just a three-star recruit out of high school, Miller took over the starting role against Michigan after an injury to Waymond Jordan, posting 158 yards and a touchdown on 18 carries.

Since Jordan’s injury, Miller has posted at least 70 rushing yards in each game while recording 18+ carries in four of his five games as a starter (one game with 15). Head coach Lincoln Riley has also confirmed that he does not expect Jordan to return this week.

Oregon has been good against the run this season, allowing just 3.3 yards per carry, but Miller has faced three other defenses averaging the same or fewer yards per carry (Michigan, Notre Dame, and Iowa) and has averaged 5.7 yards per carry in those three games.

Expect the Trojans to lean on the run heavily against the Ducks’ top ranked pass defense.

Dante Moore Under 1.5 Passing Touchdowns (+130)

Oregon quarterback Dante Moore has been somewhat underwhelming in his sophomore season, throwing for just 21 touchdowns, 2,190 yards, and 5 interceptions through ten games.

The Ducks’ offense has been especially shaky against ranked opponents, averaging just 18.3 points and 338 yards per game (excluding the two overtimes against Penn State).

In those three games, Moore threw for two or more touchdowns just once, passing for three touchdowns against Penn State, two of which came in overtime.

Moore has also thrown for 2+ touchdowns just twice in his last five games overall.

Many are banking on this game turning into a shootout, as evidenced by the lofty 59.5 over / under, but bettors should feel confident picking against Moore’s touchdowns at college football prop betting sites in Oregon.
