DALLAS – From the Cotton Bowl in Dallas, arguably the biggest rivalry in college football, it’s Texas vs. Oklahoma in the Red River Rivalry in Week 7 of college football.
Since the inception of the rivalry back in 1900, Texas has the edge over Oklahoma with a 64-51-5 series lead. However, in their more recent meetings over the last 10 years, it has been the Sooners taking charge, having won seven of those 10 games.
Now, ahead of their Week 7 meeting, college football prop betting sites are slightly leaning on the Longhorns with just a 1-point spread. However, with their struggles this season and some optimistic injury news for the Sooners, it’s hard to trust them.

John Mateer Injury Update + Gameline Pick
There have been reports all week leading up to the Red River Rivalry, indicating that Mateer feels good and that he’s been pushing to play in the game against Texas.
It’s safe to say, with the way that Mateer was playing pre-injury and Texas’s struggles, that if Mateer does end up playing, the line would significantly flip in favor of the Sooners.
Oklahoma is 5-0 this season and has won both of its P4 games against Michigan and Auburn by at least a touchdown. Their other games against non-P4 opponents have all been won by 30+ points. As for Texas, they’ve lost both of their games against P4 opponents, including a 14-7 loss to Ohio State in Week 1 and a 29-12 loss to Florida as a 4.5-point favorite in Week 6.
That said, we’re rolling with Oklahoma to continue dominating this series as they have been in recent seasons.
