- YouTube TV subscribers were not able to watch college football in Week 10.
- The blackout has a direct impact on college football betting.
LUBBOCK, Texas – We’re coming up on Week 11 of College Football, and YouTube TV and ESPN/Disney still haven’t settled their differences on revenue/pricing, leaving YouTube TV subscribers and CFB bettors in a tough situation.
On October 31st, Disney pulled all of their channels off of YouTube TV, leaving their subscribers to miss all Week 10 college football action for the week that was broadcast on their services. Those channels include:
- ESPN
- ABC
- ESPN2
- ESPNU
- SEC Network
- ACC Network
- ESPNNews
Heading into Week 11, all of these channels have yet to return, meaning a second straight week of college football on all seven of those networks is in jeopardy.
Where This Has A Direct Impact On College Football Betting
With the blackout expected to continue into Week 11, it now directly has an impact on those looking to take action on college football prop betting sites, especially those looking to place live bets.
Live bettors will have a tough time knowing when to bet and when not to bet if they aren’t able to keep up with a game as it is unfolding. It also impacts those looking for specific prop betting analysis, since ESPN hosts plenty of shows breaking down different lines and player props.
Update On YouTube TV, Disney Dispute
As much as Disney does not want to admit it, they are bleeding more and more every day that this conflict goes on. It is estimated that they are losing $5 million every day that their channels are not on YouTube TV (they earn $15 per user on YouTube TV). There is no timetable for when ESPN and YouTube TV will find a resolution.
