NORMAN, Okla. – The first round of the college football playoff kicks off on Friday with #9 Alabama taking on #8 Oklahoma. #10 Miami vs. #7 Texas A&M, #11 Tulane vs. #6 Ole Miss, and #12 James Madison vs. #5 Oregon follow on Saturday.

With plenty of meaningful football still to come, college football prop betting sites have already begun laying out odds and player props for the first round games.

Sooners Continue To Keep Ryan Williams In Check

Ryan Williams Total Receiving Yards

  • Over 46.5 -114
  • Under 46.5 -114

There is no hiding that Ryan Williams has taken a major step back from his freshman season, and it has shown even more towards the back half of the season. With that sportsbooks in Alabama to bet on college football pushed his total to 46.5 receiving yard.

In 10 games this season, Williams has gone under 46.5 yards six times, including in each of his last four games to finish the regular season. In those last four games includes a 45-yard outing against Oklahoma as well.

On the defensive side, the Sooners are a top-5 secondary in the SEC, allowing 192.2 passing/receiving yards per game. They’re also coming off of a defensive masterclass against LSU where they allowed just 113 passing yards and no receivers to cross 30 yards.

  • Pick: Ryan Williams Under 46.5 Receiving Yards

Miami Playing From Behind Helps Carson Beck Passing

Carson Beck Total Passing Yards

  • Over 235.5 -114
  • Under 235.5 -114

This is a great spot to take Carson Beck over his set passing yard total on Florida sportsbooks with CFB props in what seems to be an undersell considering what he’s done this season.

Beck has thrown for over 235.5 yards in nine of 12 games this season, including three of four against top-25 opponents. He finished the regular season doing so in five straight games.

In this one against Texas A&M, college football prop betting in Texas means they are going in as road underdogs of a field goal. If the line does stay true and the Canes find themselves playing from behind, it feeds into Beck going over, as well being that they’ll likely pull back from their usual run heavy approach.

  • Pick: Carson Beck Over 235.5 Passing Yards

Retzlaff Takes Advantage On The Ground Vs. Rebels

Jake Retzlaff Total Rushing Yards

  • Over 31.5 -114
  • Under 31.5 -114

This is another unusually low number for Jake Retzlaff on the ground, especially considering that he’s gone over this mark in eight of 13 games this year and averaging 46.9 rush yards per game overall.

He also gets a nice matchup against an Ole Miss run defense that is allowing the fifth most rush yards in the SEC this season, at 150.5 yards allowed. In total, Ole Miss has allowed five opposing D1 QBs to rush for over 31.5 yards this season, with four of them coming in at 50+ yards.

Retzlaff and Tulane did face off against Ole Miss earlier in the season, where he ran for 51 yards.

  • Pick: Jake Retzlaff Over 31.5 Rush Yards

Dante Moore, Oregon Hold Back On Pass Game

Dante Moore Total Passing Yards

  • Over 233.5 -114
  • Under 233.5 -114

There are a few factors when it comes to college prop betting in Oregon that make us lean under on Dante Moore 233.5 passing yards. The Ducks offense as a whole leans on the run plenty as they average 218.4 rush yards per game this season, which is the second most in the conference. Moore has also stayed under in two of his last five games going into the first round.

On the other end, JMU’s defense should be respected even as a G5 playoff team. They are the number one ranked defense in the Sun Belt this season, allowing just 171.5 pass yards per game. In their one game against a P5 team this season in Louisville, they allowed just 151 passing yards.

From a betting perspective, Oregon is favored by 21 points here and should find themselves up big in this one, which could force them to lean off the pass even more.

  • Pick: Dante Moore Under 233.5 Pass Yards
