LOS ANGELES – Jayden Maiava is coming off a career year in his first year as the full time starter at USC throwing for over 3,700 yards which was top-5 in the country. He now goes into 2026 losing his top-2 receivers, however, oddsmakers are still backing him at over 3,000 yards.
College football prop betting sites are giving a negative return all the way up to 3,250 yards for Jayden Maiava before it jumps to +175 for him to throw for 3,500 yards.

Are The Odds Too Optimistic?
There is a world where Maiava takes a step back this season and rightfully so. USC lost four of its top five receivers including Makai Lemon and Ja’Kobi Lane. Both who combined for over 1,900 yards last season.
Tanook Hines remains the only top-5 receiver from last season and coming off a 561-yard, two touchdown season. Terrell Anderson also committed out of the portal from NC State and put up 629 yards and five touchdowns last season for the Wolfpack.
The optimism on California sportsbooks comes from the recruiting class in Trent Mosely and Kayden Dixon-Wyatt, both who are four-star prospects. Dixon-Wyatt was the sixth overall wide receiver prospect in the 2027 class.
Something to keep in mind is that for the amount of passing yards Maiava had, this was a more evenly distributed offense with just a 50.58% pass play percentage. It’s also hard to ignore King Miller and Waymond Jordan out of the backfield who each went for 500+ yards and 5+ TDs last season.
