BERKELEY, Calif. – Capping off the Saturday slate of Week 1 college football is a banger of a game between the UCLA Bruins and Cal Golden Bears for a remake of the PAC-12 after dark days. Now, with UCLA and Cal in the Big Ten and ACC, this is the first time the two have played since 2023.
UCLA holds the all-time record of 57-36. College football prop betting sites are leaning on UCLA for another win at just a 2-point spread with a 54-point over/under.

Shootout Incoming?
Despite what last year’s offensive numbers show, these are two completely different teams from last year. For Cal, Jaron-Keawe Sagapolutele is ready to break out following his 3,454-yard and 18-touchdown season in 2025. New head coach Tosh Lupoi did a nice job building around JKS for Week 1, with Ian Strong, Chase Hendricks, and Cooper Perry all high-profile wide receiver transfers and Adam Mohammed a 4-Star running back transfer.
For UCLA, Bob Chesney takes over as head coach after leading JMU to the College Football Playoff last season with the top-rated offense in the Sun Belt at 37.1 points. Chesney landed 43 transfers out of the portal, with 12 of them following him from JMU. That includes star running back Wayne Knight, who went for 1,373 yards and nine touchdowns last season.
While 54 points might be an intimidating number on California sportsbooks, both offenses are even more intimidating with the transfer pieces and coaching staffs coming in. This is a hard lean on the over.
