ATHENS, Ga. – While the Georgia Bulldogs remain one of the elite teams in the country, there are some questions surrounding Gunner Stockton as a passer and his capability to make explosive plays.
In his first year as QB1 in 2025, Stockton went for 2,894 yards and 24 touchdowns. Now college football prop betting sites are fading him even going for 3,000 yards in his second year as the starter, and there are several factors that come into play.

Georgia plays a more conservative game with one of the lower pass play percentages in the country at 42.72%, while finding success on the ground to the tune of 182.1 rush yards per game. When Stockton is back to pass, he sticks to the safer checkdowns, with six games coming under 200 yards last season and just one completion for 60+ yards. He does get usage out of his legs with 462 rush yards and 10 touchdowns, which also takes away from his pass game.
Looking at the offense around him, the Dawgs lost last year’s top two receivers in Zachariah Branch and Colbie Young. Isiah Canion transferred in from Georgia Tech who went for 480 yards last season. While there is some light in the tight end room in Luckie Lawson, Jaden Reddell, and Ethan Barbour, it’s on par with the safe check-down looks for small yardage.
Stockton ranked in the bottom-5 of the SEC last season with 220.2 yards per game, and now goes into this season with a significantly weaker receiving core, leading Georgia sportsbooks to fade his passing yard totals.
