Back The Vols To Put On A Clinic
CFB props in Georgia don’t have too much faith in the Yellowjackets following their flatline performance against Colorado. Tech lost on a blocked field goal, went 5/13 on third downs, and conceded the time of possession. While there were some bright spots both on defense and with Alberto Mendoza’s 237-yard performance, it may not be enough to hang with Tennessee. The run game also managed just 1.7 yards per carry for 51 total yards for the game.
Tennessee, on the other hand, looked strong. The Vols put up over 600 yards of offense, including 226 pass yards from true freshman QB Faizon Brandon. He averaged 13.3 yards per completion and had three touchdowns as well. Brandon also managed 68 rush yards and two rushing touchdowns. The run game as a whole put up 329 yards and managed seven yards per carry.
All in all, Georgia Tech lost tons of offensive production from last season, and it clearly showed right out of the gate. This could very well be a runaway game for Tennessee as Brandon and the offense got off to a hot start already.
