TULSA, Okla. – Week 5 college football kicks off with a two-game slate on Thursday, with a Conference USA matchup between Western Kentucky and New Mexico State and another in the American Conference between North Texas and Tulsa.

New Mexico college football props are leaning on the Aggies to come out on top here, however, there is a case to make for Western Kentucky. Western Kentucky’s 1-2 record with 41 points allowed per game on defense comes as a result of their first two weeks against top-5 ranked opponents in Indiana and Georgia.
We got our first look at what this team could do against a same-level opponent in Week 4 against Mercyhurst. They won 52-7, and starting QB Rodney Tisdale Jr. exploded, going 19/23 for 309 yards and four touchdowns.
For New Mexico State, their 1-3 record comes with a similar win over Mercyhurst and losses to FSU and significantly weaker opponents than Western Kentucky’s faced in Hawaii and New Mexico. In their last two games against Hawaii and New Mexico, they’re allowing 35.5 while only scoring 18.5 points.
Given the strength of each of their losses, this is a hard lean on Western Kentucky to at least keep things close, if not win outright.
